Still Here is a daily check-in safety app designed for people living alone. Your safety and privacy are equally important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

We collect only what's necessary to keep the app working for you:

• Account information — your name and email address
• Emergency contact information — name, phone number, and/or email of your designated contact(s)
• Check-in history — timestamps of your daily check-ins
• Mood data (optional) — if you choose to log how you're feeling

Data We Do NOT Collect

Where Your Data Is Stored

We follow a local-first approach:

• On your device — your check-in history, mood data, and account info are stored locally on your phone.
• On our server — only your emergency contact information is stored on our server, so we can reach them if you miss a check-in.

Server data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

How We Use Your Data

• To deliver check-in reminders and track your daily status
• To contact your emergency contact(s) if you miss a check-in
• To display your check-in history and mood trends within the app

What We Never Do

• We do not sell your data to anyone
• We do not share your data with third parties
• We do not display ads or use ad-tracking services
• We do not use your data for profiling or marketing

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of all your data at any time by emailing support@stillhere.app. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Still Here is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will promptly delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), secure server infrastructure, and minimal data collection to protect your information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app. The effective date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
